Playing with Arcane Fire (Part 1)

In order to get content at a reasonable time of day, wardecs should be made against targets that have structures in your own timezone. Theres no sense in wardeccing a corporation only to be forced to wake up at 3-4 am, unless you have a good reason to do so and enough members willing to alarm clock the timers. So, I often spend time scanning structures in my area to find their timers. Once you have the timers, you can check their corp/alliance member count, killboard, structure fittings, et cetera, and determine if they are worth your time or not.

On one such occasion of scanning structures, I was contacted by Vladamir Valtouri of Arcane Fire Industries. He had spotted me scanning his structure, and was curious as to what I was doing.

Note: The chat logs for this entire saga are rather long. I have massively edited them down to save on reading time. Context has been kept as close to normal as possible.

Vladamir Valtouri > was that you being stationary behind my Raitaru?
Rami Taredi > which raitaru?
Vladamir Valtouri > Azazel
Rami Taredi > Probably, I’m going to all of them
Vladamir Valtouri > what for? just curious
Rami Taredi > just scanning the timers for all the structures in this system
Vladamir Valtouri > wardecs?
Rami Taredi > Yeah
Rami Taredi > You dont need to worry, bad timer for us

His structure had a timer of 18:00 (EVE time), whereas I was looking for timers closer to 11:00. I really didn’t want to alarm clock to kill a single Raitaru, so I was honest and hoped to make a friend out of it.

Instead, the following conversation led me to wardeccing him anyway.

Vladamir Valtouri > most people here are quite friendly actually. but yes they don’t take kindly to pirates. i for one find them helpful to a degree.
Vladamir Valtouri > plus, i’ve helped them deter pirates in the past through various means..
Rami Taredi > how do you fend off pirates without fighting them?
Vladamir Valtouri > trade secret 😉
Rami Taredi > Ok, now I just wanna wardec you to find out LOL
Vladamir Valtouri > that won’t do anything XD lol
Rami Taredi > So putting you in a position where pirates are shooting at your structure WONT cause you to do the thing that keeps you safe from pirates? :O
Rami Taredi > I am mostly joking but it’d be funny
Vladamir Valtouri > it may or may not. however, seeing as how we aren’t in your timezone, and you’d only be taking down a simple Raitaru. it’d be a waste of both our time and isk lol
Rami Taredi > You underestimate how petty I can be
Vladamir Valtouri > anyone can be petty when provoked lol
Rami Taredi > I’m petty when completely unprovoked though
Vladamir Valtouri > i’ll tell you this. what i do depends on the pay 🙂 either i can use in game methods or non-ingame methods
Vladamir Valtouri > understandable. i’m not here to to ask for a wardec though lol.
Rami Taredi > non-ingame methods? You dox people?

For those unaware, doxxing is the collection of a player’s personal information with malicious intent.

Vladamir Valtouri > i’m not a liberty to say whether i do or don’t lol
Vladamir Valtouri > besides, non-ingame methods are rare anyway. only under special circumstances do i whip out those methods. me being wardec’d is definitely not on that list XD
Vladamir Valtouri > havn’t taken out large targets like alliance yet but i’m sure it won’t be hard. however, would be a waste of time. but anyways, doing all the carefully constructed plans i do, it allows me to keep clientel, deliver results, and still maintain a harmless appearance. 🙂
Vladamir Valtouri > like your alliance*

Now, I want to make several things extremely clear:

  1. Doxxing other players is not only bannable, but CCP takes it extremely seriously. From what I have heard its almost always a permaban.
  2. Doxxing is a horrible thing to do to people, and I don’t condone such actions under any circumstances.
  3. I seemed very nice in this conversation, and didn’t condemn things that he said. I was being manipulative, and thought he was a bad person pretty early on.
  4. I learnt in this conversation that if I call him out on anything, he closes up. However, if I stroke his ego a bit and act dumb, I can ask as many questions as I’d like and he’ll generally answer them.
  5. The moment he hinted towards doxxing people was the moment I decided to ask my CEO to wardec him.

Rami Taredi > Oh, you think you’d be able to kill my alliance somehow, cute
Vladamir Valtouri > i never said that XD
Rami Taredi > “like your alliance”
Rami Taredi > literally last thing you said
Vladamir Valtouri > i meant it context of an alliance your size mate
Rami Taredi > I don’t really believe you on that anyway
Rami Taredi > you’re implying you haven’t done something like that before
Rami Taredi > but could easily do it
Rami Taredi > thats like a kid saying he’d be able to beat up anyone he feels like, just he doesn’t want to
Vladamir Valtouri > i never said easily
Vladamir Valtouri > but really though, you need to think about this more in depth
Rami Taredi > I didn’t understand a lot of it, which is why I was asking
Rami Taredi > and you haven’t helped that much 😛
Vladamir Valtouri > ah okay. well then no need to worry about it 🙂 also, it’s not necessarily where i being ghe kid, can simply beat anyone up but don’t feel like it lol. it’s more like a kid who can beat someone up using any methods possible depending on the pay. catch the drift now?
Rami Taredi > You still sound like the kid
